Things To Do

Around the Resort

We have been in business at the same location for 76 years.  We are one of only a very few resorts that are still owned and operated by its original owners. We pride ourselves in providing the cleanest and most up-to-date rental units in the Northwoods.

There are no hills to climb.  One of our most valued assets is that we are  located on the north shore of Lost Lake which is perfectly flat and between 4 and 5 feet above lake level.

Every cabin has its OWN PIER AND BOAT DIRECTLY IN FRONT which makes the cabin more secluded and summer-home like. Other outdoor amenities include a picnic table, grill, lawn chairs, and fire pit in front of each unit.

Our property is extensive, so we are able to space our cabins far apart.  Each is surrounded by beautiful white birch and pine, and there is the “not too close to the neighbors” feeling one finds in resorts having less lake frontage.

Experience Lost Lake

Our Sandy Swimming Beach
…especially appeals to the parents of young children. With a clean, sandy bottom, the depth of water increases so gradually that even the youngest and most inexperienced swimmer can enjoy the pleasure of a dip in the lake with absolute safety. A diving raft is anchored in deeper water for the experienced swimmer.

Lost Lake is great for fishing, water skiing, tubing, or just boating. (We have outboard motors, kayaks, canoes, peddle boats, and pontoon boats available.)

Our playground is a favorite place for the youngsters with a tree house, slide and swings.

We organize once-a-week softball games from late June to mid August; everybody plays, all equipment provided.

Great Fishing All Year

Come prepared for the thrills…
… fishing in the home of the tiger muskies, northern pike, bass, trout or walleye … crappie, sunfish, perch and other pan fish.

“Badger Sportsman” Magazine ranks Lost Lake as one of Wisconsin’s premier fishing lakes.

We have a screened-in fish cleaning house with running water, lights, sink, and plastic wrap for your fish.

Come expecting fishing action and you’ll not be disappointed!!

In addition to great open water fishing, Lost Lake is also a great location for ice fishing. Check out the size of this walleye caught ice fishing in front of the resort!

Outdoor Activities

For the outdoor enthusiasts…
There are several eagles’ nests along Lost Lake’s shoreline to view, plus we have miles of state-owned land along with our own marked hiking trails to explore in the forest by our resort.  Be sure and bring your camera to capture the wildlife you’re sure to see.

We have many isolated streams and rivers are in the area to raft or canoe down. See eagles and osprey in their natural environment.

There are several riding stables with exciting rides through tree-lined bridle paths near the resort.

We offer free use of our bicycles to explore miles of blacktop roads and bike trails in the area.  In the last few years our surrounding communities have built over 80 miles of paved bike trails. New to our resort are miles of public and private ATV/UTV trails. Travel all the way to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula on marked ATV/UTV trails.

Around the Northwoods

There are Catholic and Protestant churches in St. Germain, Sayner, Minocqua and Eagle River.

There are golf courses, theaters, grocery stores, garages, souvenir shops, etc. at all the nearby towns. Places to dine and dance can be found nearby.

The best reason to come to Quiet Comfort Cabins is the association of the fine clientele of guests that come here year after year. You will never lack for a companion to add interest to any activity.
